Wood Deck Cleaning and Sealing/ Staining a Wood Deck for a Richmond, VA customer of 20 years! Southern Home does it again and again! Power-washing, or Pressure Washing is what we do day after day, year after year.

Repairing and Staining an old wood deck in Wyndham, Richmond, VA by the perfectionist Wood Deck Cleaners at Southern Home Wood Deck Cleaning, 804-585-8016

The process: Use a wood-deck staining stripper by Wolman's to remove what is left of the Cedar colored top-coat. Power-washing is performed over all wood deck surfaces- pickets, handrails and decking board. Then, rotten wood is replaced and finally the deck is ready for staining. We found an excellent wood protector and water-sealant colored with a cedar coloring. That is applied to the wood by hand (brush and roller) and that is it!

Bob Yondola, Wyndham resident, has a wood deck that looks like it was built yesterday. Actually, it probably looks better than it looked the day it was built. That is what we do. That is why Bob Yondola has called Southern Home for nearly twenty years. He is a prominent Richmond resident who wants the very best. We give him perfection each time.

We even pressure-washed his home!

Cleaning and Sealing a deck with Olympic Maximum stain. Hard work by Southern Home in Wyndham sub-division, finishing today.

We are using Olympic Maximum Cedar semi-transparent stain, hand painted, not sprayed. The finish looks nicer and the job will hold up longer over time.

Southern Home Wood Deck Cleaning in Richmond, VA. Owner, Joseph Sowell has been cleaning and sealing wood decks for thirty years. This week, we got to work on a deck for a client we have been working for for about fifteen years, Theresa Bowles Cox. She is a wonderful friend at this point, she and I speak regularly on Facebook Chat. Anyhow, her deck had become worn looking and needed a recoat. It turned out nice.

I want you to take a look at the transformation that we made take place at Southern Home when we laboriously refinished a deck that had not been loved for fifteen years. Boards had to be replaced, mold and mildew had to be removed, old finish had to be removed, broken pickets beneath the hand-rails needed to be repaired. What a job!

I am going to start with what the deck ended up looking like. But, you need to go back and see the previous posts where I detail how Southern Home Wood Decks in Richmond, VA refinished one of the ugliest decks we have refinished. It was a crew of three men, "T-Roy", "Calvin Sallie" and myself, Joe Sowell. Nobody, and I mean nobody, has talent like my group. Just look.
