What is the significance of cleaning concrete and sealing it? Well, for one, it makes the surface look clean and new. Secondly, it prevents moisture from seeping into the concrete. That element is mostly important during the winter months when moisture freezes and the expansion of frozen water expands and causes the concrete to crack. 

Sealants come in various materials and various grades. The products with the highest sheen have the most protection and are the best choice and generally are petroleum-based. The other products are Acrylic and still seal the pores of the cement very well. 

This is a small driveway with an Aggregate finish. You can literally see the product on the surface. In these pictures, I have already cleaned the driveway, I am only applying the sealant with a brush and roller. It should last three years.
